SPLENDOR OF YOGA - PART 4

SPLENDOR OF YOGA

PART—4

WHAT IS YOGA?

The word “YOGA” originates from Sanskrit. The “YUJ” in Sanskrit language is the root word. The word “YUJ” means to bind or to yoke or to join or to merge or to integrate. Binding of mind, body and soul by exercise is yoga practice. Yoga releases one from human bondage and suffering. How it is so can be seen in the subsequent chapters.

WHAT IS YOGASANA?

Yoga+Asana = Yogasana.

Asana means posture. To solve confronting problems, we generally say “Let us sit and discuss”. Sitting comforts us mentally and helps to think vividly. Our culture is to make our visitors or guests first to sit. Sitting is one of the meditative postures. Asanas which accelerate the inner and outer organs of the body to function properly, propelling strength, repelling diseases and tranquilizing the mind with clear thought is called yogasana.

BODY, MIND and YOGA.

We all know that body and mind are interrelated. If some thing wrong happens in the body, it will be shown through mind( Examp: Pain, headache, uneasy to say some) and if any thing wrong happens in the brain, it will be shown through body as psychosomatic problem(Examp: Stress, anxiety, fear to say some).

SPLENDOR OF YOGA -- PART-2

SPLENDOR OF YOGA
PART— 2

POEMS TO ALMIGHTY

You lead me to breathe prana – the pure – oxygen pouring the power of Pranayama.

You taught us the art of yoga, churned its essence, held it high and served me.

You played wits as small cakes – even before our wave of laughter touched the shore – you kindled our thoughts.

You juggled climates in a blink of seconds flowered your yogic talents in rays.

You – the hero of parables – like the heir of Variyar spray your simple smile and essay of education.

You spread the seeds of yoga art, my art of salute in Surya Namaskar.

You taught how to steer our unique body and keep it hale and healthy – to lead a normal life practicing yogic skills. Inside this mortal body
How many! How many fleshy machines – your yogic art activates them all.

It is a wonder to be born without any handicaps – You made me realize it and take care of it.

You preach that sensualism degenerates one – and made us realize yogic art for our benefit.
Your style of spelling the charm of yogic art for our harmonious life has appealed me deeply.

SPLENDOR OF YOGA

It is our glorious and blessed heritage that our great old people had invented, made research, practiced, handed down to us this unique art YOGA.

W.H.O., the World Health Organization calls it YOGA THERAPY and is an art of curing diseases. So it can be taken for granted that mere medicine can not cure man’s ailment. To understand this, there are only few Yoga Therapy Centers in the world to explain this in a fruitful manner. This blog has been brought to explain YOGA & YOGA THERAPY in lucid and clear way, so that even a lay man (medically) can understand the benefits of YOGA.
Everyone has to live a life of good health and happiness for which this blog will be a lighthouse. By learning and practicing this art one gets mental strength, give no room to sorrow and tension. In short, health is a great boon and one could sacrifice anything but not health, because, of all the gifts the nature provided health is the supreme one. YOGA exercise and its associate MEDITATION are the foundation pillars for health. To achieve this great benefit one needs only ten minutes of regular practice everyday, with will power, confidence and patience. My humble advice is that you have to seek a well experienced yoga master and learn the practice under his guidance.

YOGA TEACHES US TO ACCEPT LIFE
WHEN WE ARE DEEPLY RELAXED, WE, NOT ONLY DEVELOP THE CAPACITY TO TOLERATE THE SITUATION BUT WE LEARN TO ACCEPT IT. TOLERENCE IS NEGATIVE FEELING & ACCEPTANCE IS POSITIVE FEELING. YOGA TEACHES US POSITIVE LIVING.
