LOWER CANCER RISK WITH EXERCISE & GOOD SLEEP……..YOGA EXERCISES WILL BENEFIT YOU ON BOTH

A group of researchers led by James McClain, made a long-term study of nearly 6000 U.S. Women. They found that those who exercised the most had a 25% lower chance of developing cancer than those who were the least active. They further found that among younger, physically active women, those who slept less than seven hours a night had a 47% higher risk of being diagnosed with cancer than those who regularly got a good night’s sleep.

Greater participation in physical activity has been consistently associated with reduced risk of cancer incidences at several sites, including breast and colon cancers. The researchers felt that short duration sleep appears to have opposing effect on several hormonal and metabolic parameters. But it is not yet clearly known why exercise reduces cancer risk but they believe it could be due to lower body weight, improved immune function and hormone levels associated with it. Insufficient sleep has been linked to high risks of developing a number of conditions including heart disease, obesity and diabetes. However, they haven’t yet determined exactly how exactly how sleep prevents disease.

Anyway, whatever be the outcome, we are all aware rigorous physical activity and good night’s rest always make us feel brisk and healthy. If you practice ‘YOGA’ you will get both physical activity and good sleep.

People want a cure for the health care system, and yoga is an important possible cure.
The american lifestyle generates an enormous number of sick people, and there is huge cost to repair them.
yoga will be a routine offering in schools, hospitals, and the military.
I'm inclined to believe that nurturing ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually is what the practice of yoga is all about.
